Year 2026

2026 seems to be a year of disturbance.

March

The main learning for March was about the implementation of Secure Hash Algorithms, Hash-based Message Authentication Codes, and the implementation of Time-based One Time Password.

Within the curriculum, I'm learning about web security, Structured Query Language injection, Cross-Site Scripting, Cross-Site Request Forgery, and human participant experiment design within the Human-Computer Interaction field.

February

Through the Application Security Machine Problem, I gained more understanding on the mechanism of Stacks in computer memory. I'm grateful. The Stack intuition can also be applied to backpack item management: arranging items based on predictions of their usage sequence.

I have been gradually recycling plastic bags. I managed to recycle a dozen of them by dropping them into the recycling drop-off bin. I'm grateful.

January

In January, I was mainly focusing on learning to cook with a ChefIq cooker and on finding and understanding various ingredients from local supermarkets. I have also learned various ways to handle ingredients, such as how to peel and dice shallots. There is something in common between cooking and computer programming. If I need to use one phrase to describe it, the phrase might be "being considerate". I need to understand different ingredients and steps, just like how I tend to understand different developers' designs at different levels of abstraction.

During house cleaning, I also learned a lot about recycling by reading Urbana's recycling webpage.
